Publications and Presentations

Have you ever walked in a nursing student's shoes? Many of them are juggling school with family and fulltime jobs. For many of them in Oregon, school is half the state away. OHSU Library provides all students new to the OHSU School of Nursing program with orientations, access to a roving librarian, ask-a-librarian Web forms, and a page specifically addressing nursing students' needs (http://www.ohsu.edu/library/offcampus/distson.shtml). But sometimes a little more help is welcome.

Leslie Cable created a lighthearted Web site called Practical Guide to Researching Your Paper, which uses urgency as the organizing principle (http://www.ohsu.edu/library/howtos/practicalguide/). Is your paper due tomorrow? Next week? Way down the road? There are different pathways for each scenario. Three types of links are included: tutorials, samples, and actual resources.

Students find the guide as a link from the Library's School of Nursing page. Suggestions for improving the site may be sent to cable@ohsu.edu
