Announcement of Vacancy: DIGITAL RESOURCES LIBRARIAN
 
The Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) Library and Information Services is seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and dynamic individual to provide organization of and access to materials in a variety of formats with an emphasis on digital resources, including participating in the planning and implementation of metadata for digitization projects. The successful candidate will work in a team, project-oriented environment with members of the Library and Information Services' Bibliographic Services and Educational Communication (Ed Comm) Departments. Bibliographic Services is comprised of faculty and support staff in the Library. This department is responsible for the bibliographic control of materials through applying organizational techniques to all forms of information to enhance access for users.
 
Ed Comm supports OHSU's missions by providing the following services:
1) distance learning, videoteleconferencing and streaming video,
2) video production and editing,
3) audiovisual equipment rental,
4) maintenance of equipment in classroom and seminar rooms throughout the campus, and
5) instructional design.
 
This position is under direct supervision of the Bibliographic and Database Services Librarian.

Required Qualifications:
RANK AND SALARY: This position is a twelve-month faculty appointment with contract reviewed annually. Salary range: $40-45,000 depending on qualifications.
 
The OHSU Library and Information Services falls within the organizational structure of the Biomedical Information Communication Center (BICC). The Library serves the campuses of Oregon Health Sciences University, both in Portland and statewide, and serves the health professionals of Oregon. Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) serves the people of Oregon as the primary institution for education and research in the health disciplines and as a center for innovative clinical care. Oregon Health Sciences University is located in Portland, Oregon, a dynamic community situated approximately 80 miles from the Pacific Coast and 60 miles from the Cascade Mountains.

Kaiser Permanente in Portland, Oregon currently has an opening for a Clinical Information Systems Librarian. Job Purpose: Coordinate, integrate, and manage clinical support materials in Kaiser Permanente's Intranet and Clinical Information Systems to ensure that relevant and timely information is accessible to clinicians.
 
Required Qualification: MS in Library Science or Information Resource Management from an accredited university. Thorough knowledge of cataloging, indexing, classification systems. Working knowledge of computer applications in information management. Three years experience as a librarian or information specialist in healthcare. One year experience designing information on the Web. Working in a team environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of EpicCare EMR. One year of experience accessing training needs, creating training tools, and conducting training sessions. Demonstrated effective communication skills. Web design experience beyond minimum requirement.
 
Schedule Description: Flexible regarding hours per week. 20-32 hours per week.
 
Salary and Benefits: $20.43-28.60 per hour with a competitive benefits package.
