The papers of papers and photographs in this collection relate to Philip and Estelle Garges' trip and stay in Alaska (1928-1930). There are 378 copy negatives and 378 contact prints selected from the 389 original pictures in the collection. They include views of Juneau, Anchorage, Fairbanks, the Steese Highway, road construction, and so forth. Most of these had been mounted in a Garges family album. Over half of the photographs are identified.
GEORGE GELBISH. World War II Photographs; ca. 1943. .1 cu. ft.
The collection consists of the World War II era photographs of a U.S. Navy photographer. The collection contains 28 black and white prints and 28 preservation copy negatives. Most of them are of an athletic competition among naval personnel on Kodiak. Two of the prints show fire damage to the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church in Kodiak, and men doing cement repair work around the church.

The collection consists of the papers of a radar engineer and nurse from Anchorage. The collection contains: 112 black and white prints; 505 color prints; 1 black and white negative; 74 color negatives; and 390 color slides. Subjects of the photographs include: Ralph and Marie George and their family and friends; the BMEWS facility at Clear Air Force Base (interior); Nenana; Chelatna Lake; FAA radar facilities in Alaska; Hawaiian vacations; the Georges' home in Anchorage; and Marie George's needlework. Subjects of the slides include the General Electric shop on Elmendorf Air Force Base; Anchorage; aircraft; radar stations; the Alaska Highway; and vacations in California, Colorado and the South.

The collection consists of a letter, clippings, and photographs relating to John Gibbons (member of the Board of the Greater Anchorage Incorporated, Fur Rendezvous, and Coordinator of the 1962 Fur Rendezvous activities) and his idea for a Seppala Trophy for the Fur Rendezvous Sled Dog Race to honor Musher Leonard Seppala. There are 7 photographs concerning the 1962 Fur Rendezvous.

This collection consists of the papers of Alaska educator Henry Gilbertson. It is divided into seven series. Series 6, Photographic Slides, consists of 1501 images of Alaskan rural schools and scenery. Series 7, Photographs, contains 43 images of Alaskan rural schools and scenery.

The collection consists of 254 color slides of a tour of Alaska and Western Canada. Towns depicted include: Sitka, Skagway, Fairbanks, College, Circle City, Nome, Kotzebue, Barrow, Kenai, Seward, Dawson Creek, Dawson, and Whitehorse. Highways depicted include the Alaska, Glenn, Richardson, Steese, Klondike, Seward, Sterling, and Denali. Special tours included trips on the riverboat Discovery from Fairbanks, and the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway from Skagway to Whitehorse.

The collection consists of the personal color slides of a data processing firm employee, primarily of Clear Air Force Station, in 1961. The collection contains 168 color 35mm photographic slides. Subjects include: various facilities at Clear Air Force Station including three large radar antennas; men setting up data processing equipment; computing, data processing, and power generating equipment; men playing cards and other activities; and people at a formal party with band.

The collection consists of the photograph album of a U. S. Army soldier who served in Alaska with the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment. The album contains; 557 black and white prints; 9 color prints; 2 black and white photo post card; 3 color photo post cards; and 8 black and white commercial tourist prints. Subjects include: Ralph Gilmore and fellow soldiers at Camp Roberts, Fort Richardson, Adak (20+ prints), Attu Island (109 prints), and Fort Benning, Georgia; Yosemite National Park (33 prints); and Ralph Gilmore and various friends and family members.

The collection consists of the photographs of a Rapids Roadhouse operator and hunter. The collection contains 28 black and white prints, one photomechanical print, and 11 black and white preservation copy negatives of selected images. Subjects include: Frank Glaser; the Rapids or Black Rapids Roadhouse on the Valdez Trail near the Delta River; Glaser's hunting cabin; game trophies; dogs; and caribou hunters.

The collection consists of the photograph album of a tourist couple. The 36-page album contains 102 black and white prints. Subjects include: the couple with family and friends, sight seeing, picnicking, flower gathering and salmon fishing. Locations include lakes in Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley, Fort Richardson, the Glenn Highway, the Seward Highway and Anchorage.

The collection consists of the scrapbook of a U. S. Navy intelligence officer in the 7th Fleet. The scrapbook contains 63 black and white prints and 1 color print. Subjects include: a Japanese chart of Pearl Harbor; Charles A. Goodspeed and fellow naval officers and friends in Astoria, Oregon and Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, Alaska; a training exercise involving the recovery of an airplane using a navy diver; and the 7th Fleet Intelligence sections at Toloso, Leyte Island, and Manila, Philippines (1945).

The collection consists of copied papers and photographs of USAF officer Earl George Goodwin, who served in Alaska. Subjects include: a military ceremony, civilian's Quonset huts on Elmendorf (1951); fellow officers and co-workers at Elmendorf; the Alaska Air Command Headquarters building, Alaska Natives at Kotzebue, unidentified air force buildings, and scenery.

The collection consists of Gordon's papers relating to the Boys' Club of Alaska, for which he served as president. The collection contains eight black and white photographs, primarily of Chet Gordon and other supporters of the club.

The collection consists of the album of a woman who took a steamship cruise to Alaska. The collection contains 90 black and white prints. Subjects include: Ruth Gordon with friends and fellow travelers; Valdez; Nellie Lawing's cabin at Kenai Lake; Skagway; a calving glacier; totem poles; the Inside Passage; Annette Island and the Annette Island Canning Company building; Ketchikan; Victoria, B. C.; Buchart Gardens; and Vancouver, B. C.

The collection consists of the personal photograph album of a farmer from Southern British Columbia. The collection contains 184 black and white prints from the album. Subjects include: William Gough, friends, family, classmates, and coworkers; various farms, towns, and other locations in Canada; locations in Southeast Alaska; and scenes of college life at the University of British Columbia. Of special note are images of the Premier Gold Mine from 1923, and buildings on the newly completed Point Grey campus of the University of British Columbia from 1925.

The collection consists of the family and travel photograph album of Idaho natives Cecil and Lois Gowen. Cecil Gowen's mother, Celia "Bunnie" Gowen Fairbanks, was a Ketchikan area pioneer. The collection contains 80 black and white photographs (and 21 copy negatives), subjects of which include: Lois and Cecil Gowen's trip to Ketchikan in August 1947; Cecil Gowen's vacation in Washington in 1936; a custom trailer he built at his welding shop in Meridian, Idaho; post card scenes of Seattle and Western Washington; and various Gowen family gatherings and portraits.

The collection consists of the papers, artifacts, and photographs of a medical personnel clerk at Adak. The photographs consist of 93 black and white prints, 31 photo post cards, and 35 copy negatives. Subjects include his service at Camp Pickett, Virginia; Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Adak Island, Alaska; Anchorage, Alaska; and Tacoma and Fort Lewis, Washington. 83 prints concern his service with the 179th Station Hospital at Adak.

The collection consists of the photograph album of a U. S. Coast Guard sailor who served in Alaska. The album contains 339 original black and white prints and post card, and 89 black and white copy negativess. Subjects include: Granade and fellow sailors and officers aboard the Coast Guard cutters Haida, Tallapoosa, and Cyane; harbor, dock, street, cemetery, park and other scenes in Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, Unalaska, Dutch Harbor and Kodiak; Pribilof and Aleutian Islands scenes at St. Paul, Atka and Attu islands; various Coast Guard cutters, patrol boats, amphibious planes, and other ships, boats and yachts; and friends and relatives.
DELOISE W. GRAVES. World War II Photographs and Papers; 1942-1945, 1963. .25 cu. ft.
The collection consists of photographs and related paper documents of a U.S. Army soldier stationed at Adak. The 295 prints and 69 negatives were taken during the period 1942 to 1945. Service photos include those of a railroad trip to the west coast (Nov. 1942); Fort Lawton in Seattle, Washington (Nov. 1942); and Adak Army Air Field in the Aleutians (1943-1944). Family photos are of Graves, his family, and friends. There are also 8 black and white 4x5 copy negatives.

The collection consists primarily of the historical and subject files of the Fur Rendezvous. Included among the papers are two sets of photos. The first is a set of over 2,000 black and white negatives and contact prints by Ward Wells showing a wide variety of Fur Rendezvous events for the years 1952-1982. The second is an album containing 89 sheets of contact prints by an unknown photographer.

The collection consists of the slides, photographs, and audio recordings of Anchorage residents Thomas and Marion Gregory. Subjects of the slides and photographs include: service at the U. S. Naval Station at Subic Bay, Philippines (1954-1956); Kodiak Island, Alaska (1956-1957); Anchorage, Alaska (1957-2002); the Anchorage Fur Rendezvous; the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race (Anchorage starts); rural airstrips in Alaska; the Alaska Earthquake in Anchorage (1964); Arctic Valley ski area; Portage Glacier; Crow Pass Trail; Hatcher Pass; various hikes in the Chugach Mountains, Kenai Peninsula, and elsewhere; and the Chilkoot Trail.

The collection consists of the scrapbook and photograph album of an Alaskan miner, businessman and territorial legislator. The collection contains: 73 original black and white prints from the album; 277 black and white photo post cards from the album; and 27 black and white prints from the scrapbook. There are also 89 departmental preservation copy negatives of selected images. Subjects of the original photographs include: Benjamin Grier and friends; camps, cabins, and hydraulic placer mining operations at Cache, Mills, Nugget, Twin, and Falls creeks; lumber operations at Kanatak, dogs, dog teams and sleds; and hunting. Subjects of the photo post cards include: mining, wildlife, hunting, towns, Alaska Natives, dog teams, ships, shipwrecks, fishing, and scenery.

The collection consists of the photographs of Quinn F. Griffith, a U.S. Army soldier stationed on Adak in 1949. The collection contains 15 black and white photographs (13 different images). Subjects of the photographs include fellow soldiers, enlisted quarters, and area scenery at Adak Army Airfield, as well two locations in Europe. Also, there are four 4x5 copy negatives of selected prints.

The collection consists of the contents of a scrapbook created by a Fresno, California couple who visited Southeast Alaska in 1969. The collection contains 44 color photo post cards. Subjects include: the S.S. Prince George; scenes in Ketchikan, Juneau, Mendenhall Glacier, Auke Bay, Skagway, Wrangell, Petersburg and Prince Rupert; and scenery along the White Pass and Yukon Railway.
MERRILL E. GRUBE. Photographs; 1965-1978. 6 cu. ft. Inventory.
Merrill E. Grube is a professional photographer who owned and operated Merrill E. Grube Photography in Anchorage, Alaska, and worked at Anchorage Community College and the University of Alaska, Anchorage. The collection consists of over 14,600 photographs and negatives concerning ACC and UAA. Of these, over 900 are primarily black and white prints of various types, including contact prints. The remainder are negatives, mainly black and white, of various sizes. The photographs and negatives were taken by Grube during the course of his work at ACC and UAA. They depict a variety of subjects including classes at ACC; ACC registration; commencements; field trips; faculty; students; buildings and building construction at both UAA and ACC; various receptions and banquets; classrooms; the Fine Arts Fair; and other subjects.

The second part of this collection consists of the papers of Margaret Hafemeister. Series 1, Biographical Materials, includes a scrapbook containing 150 photographs (black & white, color). These relate to her travels in Alaska (1944-1975), including her trip to Alaska in 1944, and her activities as a social worker in the state.

Subject of the original photographs include: officers and sailors aboard the U. S. The collection consists of the Alaskan Black History related papers of George Harper, president and co-founder of the Blacks in Alaska History Project, Inc. Series 6: Photographs, contains over 300 black and white prints, over 400 color prints, over 300 black and white and color negatives, and some color slides. There are also photographs in Series 8: Biographical Clipping Files, and color slides in Series 4: Project Slide Shows. The photographs concern the history of African Americans in Alaska.

The collection consists of J. B. "Georgia" Harper's photograph album and related papers concerning the construction of an aircraft runway by Baker Engineers at Galena Army Airbase during World War II. Harper and fellow Baker Engineers employees; Galena area people, buildings, and scenery; the construction camp; and construction equipment and machinery.

This collection consists of papers and photos relating to Richard Holmes Hazard's induction and service in the United State Navy during World War II. Included in the collection are 20 black and white photographs of Hazard with fellow soldiers in various cities, including Seattle and Kodiak.

This collection includes photos and souvenir albums published by Eric A. Hegg. The collection contains 28 cyanotype and 2 black and white photographs, plus three published souvenir albums. The photographs include images of the Klondike and surrounding areas taken during the gold rush period of 1998 through 1900. The souvenir albums contain halftone prints of Hegg photos. The first album depicts life in the Klondike during the 1898 gold rush. The second album deals with the Nome gold rush at the beginning of the twentieth century. The third album contains images of Southeast Alaska, circa 1905.

This collection contains papers relating to John Hellenthal's personal and political activities, as well as his work as a member of the Alaska House of Representatives. The collection contains 20 prints depicting Hellenthal , buildings, and scenery.

The collection consists primarily of materials relating to Christine Heller's professional work as a nutritionist and to her work in botany. Among the papers, Series 7 contains photographs, postcards, and a filmstrip. There are 353 prints, 237 negatives, 4 slides, and 21 transparencies which include family photos, images relating to her dietary study of natives, and photos of villages. These also include 135 photographs from her 1948 summer trip on the U. S. Coast Guard cutter Northwind to various villages in Alaska. Finally, there are 931 post cards, over half of which depict Alaska scenes.

The collection consists of the World War II era scrapbook of U.S. Navy Seabee John Andrew Higgins. The 158 photographs and 6 negatives in the scrapbook include those of John A. Higgins and fellow seamen; scenes from the building of the Alaska Highway; coworkers, construction and supply facilities, and the CANOL oil refinery in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory; views of a railroad engine and plow clearing snow from the White Pass and Yukon Railroad; Higgins and coworkers in Saint George's, Hamilton, and Greystones, Bermuda; and various scenic images of the Whitehorse area, Canada, Alaska, and the Bermuda Islands. There are also 14 black and white 4x5 copy negatives.

This collection contains a variety of different types of materials. Among the papers is a photograph album containing 247 prints as well as 53 unmounted photographs concerning the area around May Creek McCarthy areas in Alaska.

The collection consists of a scrapbook kept by U.S. Marine Elmer H. Hoode while stationed at Dutch Harbor . The 14 photographs in the scrapbook include: 9 Alaska tourist prints, primarily of people in Unalaska; a signed portrait of actress Olivia DeHavilland; 3 prints of Dutch Harbor from Iliuliak Bay; and a picture of sea lions on a beach.

The collection consists of photographs and papers of employee of Allison Engines who visited Alaska concerning Lend-Lease aircraft sold to Russia. The collection contains 60 different black and white prints. Subjects include: Arthur W. Hope and U.S. Army Air Forces officers at Fairbanks, Nome, and Galena in Alaska; new P-39 fighter aircraft; an Army Air Forces officer conferring with a Russian officer in uniform; and a stage show put on by Army Air Forces soldiers in a large Quonset hut.

The collection consists of the photograph album of an apparent nurse in Nome. The collection contains 162 black and white prints. This collection consists of a single album of photographs of Rubye Johnson, her parents, and other relatives and friends. The images were taken in Alaska, Washington, California, and Europe. There are 260 (b&w) prints which depict Alaska and Anchorage in the late 1910s and early 1920s, Washington and California in the late 1920s and early 1930s, and Europe in 1932 and 1933. The album belonged to Rubye Johnson; her picture is on the first page of the album.

Subjects include: voyages between Port Townsend, Washington, and Nome, Alaska, aboard the steamships Jeanie and Senator in 1901; soldiers and buildings at Fort Davis in Nome; a gold mine at Bench No. 7, Anvil Creek, in 1902; the U. S. Revenue Cutters Bear and Thetis at Nome in 1901; people, buildings, street scenes, tent camps, and dog teams in and around the city of Nome; an Arctic Brotherhood ball; a picnic party of men and women on top of Anvil Mountain in July 1903; Inupiat peoples and an Inupiat trading and whaling camp at Nome; interior views of a house ; and a narrow gauge railroad.

The collection consists of papers and photographs from Robert Lewis' service in the U.S. Army at Fort Raymond, Seward, Alaska during World War II. The collection contains 347 black and white prints and 2 negatives. They are of Lewis and Battery E; Fort Raymond and its facilities and troops; and scenery and recreational activities on the Kenai Peninsula and along the Alaska Railroad. Of particular interest are photographs of the tent camp at Fort Raymond next to the Jesse Lee Home; the devastating fire on 4th Avenue in Seward on the night of November 23, 1941; and a railroad trip to Mount McKinley National Park and Fairbanks. Other localities include Cooper's Landing, Moose Pass, Russian River Rendezvous, Hope, the Divide Ski Area, and "Alaska Nellie" Lawing's trophy house and room in Lawing. Also, there are images of Adak Island and the army base (1951).

The pictures include views of Metlakatla, Skagway, Fort Wrangell, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kasaan, Valdez, and Seward. They also depict people, buildings, glaciers, railroads, and totems.

This collection consists of a souvenir album containing lithographed images of Alaska and Alaska related scenes. Subjects of the images include the Inside Passage, glaciers, mines including Treadwell and Kennicott, Chilkoot Pass, raliroads, Whitehorse, Skagway, Sitka, Wrnagell, Dawson, Fairbanks, Nome, Valdez, Cordova. Sitka, the Copper and Yukon Rivers, Eskimos, fishing, mining, and wildlife. The album was probably produced by the photography studio of Lomen and Hanford, for sale to tourists. In addition the the lithogrphs, a previous owner of the album pasted 87 addition postcards and prints. These items include images of Port Moller, scenery and wildlife, fishing, mining, ships, and several images of Montana. The collection contains a total of 26 black & white lithographs, plus 87 black and white, and color, prints and postcards.

The collection consists of the album of a 51th U. S. Naval Construction Battalion seaman who was stationed at Dutch Harbor. It contains 21 original black and white photographic prints and 11 black and white Alaskan commercial tourist prints. Subjects original photographs include: Maas and fellow sailors at Dutch Harbor; and friends and family members.

The collection contains 12 black and white photographs of Mr. Macomber and various other military personnel taken while he was stationed in Alaska with the Eleventh Air Force. The collection also contains a postcard packet with 10 images of Anchorage and surroundings.

A. G. Maddren, a geologist and photographer with the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS), worked in Alaska on four expeditions: Koyukuk-Chandalar (1909); Innoko-Iditarod (1910); Alaska-Canada Boundary (1911-1912); Yakataga (1913); and Kuskokwim (1914). The collection consists of three series. The first contains photocopies of four albums of pictures taken by Maddren and others on the expeditions. They include photographs of glaciers, rivers, mountains, geologic formations, expedition members and camps, placer gold mines, towns, villages, and scenery. The second series consists of black and white copy negatives and contact prints of 154 selected photographs from the albums. The third series consists of contact prints made from original nitrate negatives of 100 expedition photographs (many of which were not from the albums) and copy negatives of 19 of these photographs. The collection was loaned for copying by Alaska Pacific University.

The collection consists of the contents of photograph album of U. S. Army soldier who was stationed at Fort Richardson in 1943. The collection contains: 61 original black and white prints; 12 black and white Alaska commercial tourist prints; 14 black and white photo post cards; 14 other black and white and color post cards; and four black and white Alaska photo greeting cards. Subjects of the original photographs include: Nicandro Mancha and fellow soldiers in California and Alaska; U. S. Army brass band and troops marching in a downtown parade (probably in Anchorage); dogs; trains and locomotives; and scenery.

The collection consists of the Alaska related color photographic slides of the Secretary of the Sierra Club. The collection contains 492 color slides. The majority of the slides are of Mauk's trip to Alaska in 1961. Slides of this trip include images of Fairbanks, Fort Yukon, the Sheenjek River, camping at Lobo Lake with Olaus and Margaret Murie, Mount McKinley National Park, Camp Denali, and various related scenery and wildflowers.

The collection consists of the papers of an amateur archeologist. May's personal journal/scrapbooks include 3,148 black and white prints and 1,938 color prints. The collection also includes: 168 black and white prints; 1 color print; 1,339 b&w negatives; 112 black and white contact sheets; 1,173 color negatives; 58 color contact sheets; 47 black and white contact prints; 632 black and white copy negatives; 5 black and white slides; and 14 color slides. In addition, there are 137 black and white glass presentation slides from the 1937 Smithsonian Institution Expedition to the Aleutian Islands, along with 137 related copy negatives and 35 contact sheets. Subjects of the photographs in the collection include World War I, the 1936 to 1938 Smithsonian Institution archeological expeditions to the Aleutian Islands, and May's world travels.

The collection consists of Sam McClain's personal papers and files concerning his artwork. The bulk of the collection consists of art related place name files (Series 5) for 135 different localities. Among other things, the files contain photographs, negatives, post cards, and color slides relating to Russian Orthodox churches in Alaska; historical structures in Anchorage and other parts of Alaska; and McClain's home town of San Angelo, Texas. Series 9, Photographs, contains 72 prints primarily of family and friends. Series 10, Slides, contains 216 color slides mainly relating to a trip in Alaska (1968), an art show at Alaska Methodist University, art class materials, and his work. Series 11, Post Cards, contains 16 views of a variety of subjects in Alaska and the American Southwest.

WILLIAM L. McNUTT (d. 1974). Photographic Slides and Film Strips, n.d., 1934-1941, 1948-1973. .6 cu. ft. Inventory.
William L. McNutt was a member of the Anchorage Fire Department. The collection consists of McNutt's personal color photographic slides as well as some commercial black and white stereo film strips on travel and entertainment subjects. The color slides (876 total) concern the McNutts' life in Alaska and include views of William and Bunny McNutt, their home and garden in Anchorage, the Anchorage Fire Department, various views of places and events in Anchorage, and views of locations in southcentral Alaska. Most of the slides are not identified and most pre-1963 images are undated. The 23 stereo film strips contain 14 images per filmstrip (a total of 322 images). They are views of various non-Alaskan subjects dating from 1934 to 1941, and were produced by Tru-Vue, Inc. of Rock Island Illinois. A stereo film strip viewer is included with the collection.

The collection consists of the tourist slides of Washington residents Agnes McQuarrie and Ruth Warnke. The collection contains 235 color 35mm photographic slides. Subjects include: the Inside Passage; the Alaska ferries Tustumena and Malaspina; the Alaskan towns of Sitka, Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Fairbanks and Barrow; and the Yukon Territory towns of Dawson City and Whitehorse.

The collection consists of the World War II era photograph album of a soldier stationed in Cordova.
The collection contains: 194 original black and white prints from McQuie's military service in Alaska and the Philippines; 88 original black and white prints of McQuie's friends and family in Virginia and elsewhere; 30 black and white Alaska commercial tourist prints of Cordova area scenes; and 40 black and white preservation copy negatives of selected images. Subjects include: soldiers in and around Cordova; heavy equipment used to construct the airfield; and Cordova street scenes, Nirvana Park, glaciers, lakes, and other area scenery.

The collection consists of the photographs of a bus driver for Alyeska Pipeline Company during construction of the oil pipeline. The collection contains 249 color prints and 71 color 16mm negatives. The collection consists of photographs and unit publications of a member of the 85th Naval Construction Battalion who served in the Aleutian Islands. The photographs consist of 36 black and white prints, 35 of which are from a small album of images taken on the islands of Attu and Shemya, and 10 copy negatives of selected images. The last print is a group photo of Merryman's platoon.

This collection consists of eight volumes of black and white photographs made by staff members of the National Geographic Society Katmai expeditions between 1913 and 1919. The most significant are those of the 1917 and 1919 expeditions under the direction of Robert F. Griggs. The photos provide documentary pictorial evidence of the expeditions and also present many views of Alaskan scenery, towns and villages, various ships and boats, flora and fauna, and natives. There are 4,839 black and white photographs for the years 1913, 1915-1919. Negatives were made from over 1,000 of the photographs. There is a list of the photographs in the collection, an index to the photographers, and a partial subject index.

This collection consists of diary notes, reminiscences, correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, and photographs of Alaska guide, George B. Nelson. Most of the memorabilia, clippings, and photographs relate to his activities as a guide. Series 4 contains about 767 photographs, negatives, and slides as well as about 104 post cards. The subjects include his friends and associates, scenery, animals, and other topics.

The collection consists of records concerning the theater related activities of John and Linda Nelson and to the operation of Alaska Stagecraft, Inc. The photographic files include over 1700 negatives (primarily b&w), proof sheets (b&w), slides (color) and photographs (color and b&w); these are of performances by various theater and arts groups in Anchorage including Treasures of Sight and Sound (T.O.S.S.), Anchorage Community Theater (A.C.T.), the A.C.C. Theater Guild, the Carnival Festival Theater, and others.

The collection consists of photographs and postcards from the period William Newlove worked on a construction crew for the Alaska Highway. The collection consists of a family photograph album of the Clarence and Minnie Nichols Family of Bellingham, Washington. The 24-page album contains 61 black and white prints. Subjects of the early photographs include the interior of St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, the church graveyard, and a barabara at Nushagak, and various Bellingham, Washington area scenery. The other family photographs are of Nichols family members and friends, and date from 1925 to 1942.
