Introduction
The Consortium Library's main website was redesigned in the summer of 2005. The goals of the redesign project included creating a fresh new look for the site and addressing usability issues uncovered since the last redesign. Prototype development being in January 2005. The redesign became a Web Development Team project on April 28, 2005. The go live date for the new site was August 15, 2005.
The Web Development Team lead the selection and testing of the new site. Feedback and recommendations were solicted from all members of the library staff and faculty. Usability testing on the beta test site, involving UAA and APU students and faculty, was conducted to locate areas of improvement prior to launch.
The new site is a success based on user feedback. A number of new features, including accessiblity enhancements, have been incorporated into the site. There remain areas within subsets of the site that need improvement. The Web Development Team is planning several projects for the 2005-2006 academic year that will address those needs.
